The hymns in this CD all come from the hymnal that is used throughout China by the Chinese churches. Although the hymnal itself offers a wide variety of hymnody from throughout the world, every hymn in this CD is a Chinese hymn; with a Chinese composer or arranger. The New Hymnal presents each hymn two times, once with Chinese lyrics and, usually on the opposite page, with English. It is the intention of this CD to introduce and acquaint you, your community, or congregation, with the beautiful hymnody and theology of Chinese Christians. The hymns and psalms in this CD reflect the things Chinese Christians hold dear: nature, self-reliance, the mysteries of their faith, service, labor for the building of the future, feeling blessed, human relationships with reverence, praise, and worship to their Creator.
